Ten years ago my wonderful gelding, Apollo, was stricken with EPM. After treatment and rehab, he relapsed and I made the decision to retire him. I began the search for horse retirement farms. As Apollo is a Hanoverian who hails from near Frankfurt, Germany, he suffered terribly in the hot and humid Florida summers where I live. Even though I would miss him very much, I wanted to send him to a better climate for him. I decided on Paradigm Farms after studying their website and speaking with Melissa and Jason Webb. I found them extremely knowledgeable and caring horse and farm people.
My husband and I visited the original Paradigm Farm soon after Apollo was shipped there. We were very impressed with both the facilities and the care he was receiving. No other farm I researched provided the same care with the same environment and cost effectiveness. Fast forward and Apollo will have been with the Webb’s ten years this July (2016). He now lives at the new farm which was constructed specifically and strategically for horse retirement. Due to my husband’s health issues, I have not been able to visit for several years, but constantly see pictures of my horse on the farm blog and newsletter. He is only a phone call or email away. I KNOW he is in good hands and receives the finest of comprehensive care including farrier and dental services, vaccines, worming, coggins, etc. He is free to wander a large, verdant pasture with his friends. He is fed well and groomed and all his needs are met. Ten years of great care is a testimonial in itself in favor of Paradigm Farms. Apollo and I are very lucky I found them.
