Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Although both Mother Nature and our truck have tested our good humor the last couple of days Jason and I have remained in the spirit of thankfulness. We have so much to be thankful for, and let’s face it, trying unsuccessfully to find the block heater on your truck (see picture for explanation below) is the epitome of a first world problem.
If you are reading this you are one of the many people we are so grateful to have in our lives. There are so many people that make such important contributions to our lives and this farm it would be impossible to list them all. We are thankful for all of you.

Just another day cursing Chevy products for Jason. I told him I wouldn’t post this picture so . . . Happy Thanksgiving dear. He was looking for the plug to the block heater which we’ve never used, not one single time. Yet here we were in November in the south deciding it was finally time to plug in the truck. This involved 20 minutes of climbing on and crawling under the truck with some colorful commentary supplied by Jason. Jason finally announced the “&%$#ing truck must not have one. What diesel truck doesn’t have a &%$#ing block heater!!” I finally went inside and googled “locate block heater Duramax Diesel” and found a website with instructions AND pictures that told you where to find the masterfully hidden (and it was meticulously hidden) cord. Melissa for the win!! The cord was still in its factory packaging in its hiding place because, despite owning the truck for a few years, we have literally never needed to use the block heater before.
